Day 37 of At-Home Quarantine and Still the Very Busy Office

I try not to look at the calendar as it brings everything to reality. For this blog, I will say that I have been on home quarantine now for 37 days and I will continue until COVID is under control. I understand that compared to the rest of the world and in many places in the country this is not very long. But, for an administrator/Broker for an office of 7 agents, an Executive Assistant and a satellite office of 5 agents I am lonely. The typical day would be blistering fast with agents that fly into the office and stop and tell me that they just met with a great person that wants to list their house or that they just showed 4 great properties and will be writing up an offer soon. Then there will be that agent that fill me in and catches me up with what is happening with everyone in the office. We list, we sell, we council, we close. We do this all together as a large family. Now after these 37 days all of the listing, selling, counseling, and closing is still going on but in a very different way. We are all individually working the same as we always did, but each in our own small world. The world of a single individual continuing to do the job, working with customers to get them the home they have always wanted just with a different spin. The internet has been a lifesaver, everything that has transpired is basically transpiring through the cloud. Last week we had a closing that was completed with one person and the closing agent in the room at a time. Today we have another closing taking place the same way. The new typical closing could be outside closings with sun or umbrellas. We are still doing it, just differently. For me it is quieter, less hectic, the pace is slower. We are getting the job done, we are selling, and listing. But, it is just too quiet for this EA/Broker. We all look forward to this COVID to be a blip in our history, it can not happen soon enough for me. I want to be back in the bustling office, with its ups and downs, victories and defeats. WE WILL GET THROUGH THIS! Stay Safe!
